James Politics: National Election- National Editorial by www.jamestowncalif.com Obama/McCain Interviewed by Pastor Warren at Saddleback Church

August 21, 2008

James Politics: National Election- National Editorial by www.jamestowncalif.com Obama/McCain Interviewed by Pastor Warren at Saddleback Church

Obama/McCain Interviewed by Pastor Warren at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California was hosted by local residents people got a glimpse of the Two Candidates Character on National Key Issues. Barack Obama went first, and Pastor Warren asked questions regarding Abortion, National Politics, define what makes a person rich, Character questions to give the audience there and the viewers a taste of how one would handle the position as President of the United States. Pastor Warren gave a strong Interview to both Obama and McCain, and after the interview people were thinking to themselves that both need a Vice President with such character. Alone up there in front of a National Audience, the Church Arena providing perhaps the best glimpse of the two candidates character.
The questions were going to be tougher on Democratic Nominee Obama because of the fact that he is a Democrat, and the Abortion issue is what separates people from being either Democrat or Republican.
A lot of people would say that McCain did a better job on the Interview, but I think like wise. McCain still speaking out the same rhetoric, it was easier for him to answer certain questions. The People there at the Church gave Obama a tremendous loud applause, and then Pastor Warren brought out McCain. Whether or you agree or disagree with party differences, it seemed that the people there set those differences aside wanting the change, and appreciating the fact that Obama seems more honest then McCain. The reason why I say that is because the Abortion issue which many political contributors said would not be a deciding factor in this 2008 election actually is a big issue in this campaign.
To add, some of the fastness or quickness of McCain’s answers was questionable, and many people have said that he may have already heard some of the questions as Obama went first on the questions.
That could be a good question to ask to see his character shows if he is honest. In fairness to Obama coming into the Church, he gave frank answers to the questions asked, and most of the answers were to appease the democratic voters. In Southern California, Republicans are strong in Los Angeles and Orange County where as Democrats are strong in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. The debates went to the advantage of McCain being that Conservative People were mostly there, and the questions all favored Conservative points of View.
The Two Candidates gave favorable answers to the audience to stand by their parties principles. John McCain had the advantage on the Abortion Issue, and during this New Crisis in Georgia between Russia and Georgia, automatically people tend to favor the Republican. Only that in this case where was the leadership and agencies working on intelligence before this crisis commenced, and it brings up so many questions where Pastor Warren was not asking. Pastor Warren did a Tremendous Job under Pressure asking the moral, and character questions, and I could not have said it better. The debate favored McCain although Obama received a bigger round of applause because people are just so sickened of the Republican Leadership the last 8 years, many Republicans are just not sure of one’s Character of John McCain.
What I notice is the last three elections border states governor and senator are running for President of the United States, and neither one of them have made a dent on National Security Issues within. Asking for Our Vote, the Senator of Arizona continues to promote the idea of off shore drilling in the Ocean where some states have their coasts under Protection. McCain recently was in the Gulf of Mexico on board a Off Shore Drilling location that pumps out 10,000 barrels of oil a day. Obama mostly has been against off shore drilling in the protected states, but has recently changed his position considering limited off shore drilling. Many Democrats are showing their faces by changing their stances while on vacation giving the public the idea that they are waiting on the vote and compromise, but instead are weaseling their way on changing positions. It is a difficult issue, and many people are divided on the issue favoring environmental impact.
The Washington Post reported recently that Obama was getting more coverage then McCain on all the Publications and air time. On the same hand, talk radio have been unloading and dishing it out on Obama since the Interview of Pastor Warren at Saddleback Church.
The Percentage points are now even 46% to 45%, but some people undecided. I think people after the interview are now decided. One thing that is missing are the Independent or Libertarian Candidates running. The People have only two candidates to decide on.
One of the questions that McCain was asked was to define rich, and he said 5,000,000 candid.
So I guess when you want to sue a rich person, you sue him for 3 times the amount.
A bizarre question as Obama said that if you are making 150,000 and above. McCain talked about Republican views of keeping taxes low, but the reality is taxes are already high for personal income on all the brackets. To add the Real Estate Market has gone down to where 1 out of 494 houses have been foreclosed Nationally, and 1 out of 120 in California, Nevada is worse. The price of gas has affected the mortgage market on how expenses to work increased. To add, the Stock Market continues to decline down the 11,000 mark, and it has not been fully pointed out that the mortgage crisis has affected the stock market because people don’t have the extra cash from their property’s equity to invest in the market.
Off Shore drilling is not going to be a short term solution to the chain of high gas prices.
The Candidates have so many issues to deal with, and it is obvious that both characters differ. The people want solutions to the many crisis we have nationally. Pastor Warren did a magnificent job on asking the character questions to find out about the honesty and integrity of the two. Obama had it tough answering his abortion views to the Pastor. The Pastor asked McCain for him to point out one of his mistakes in his past that he regrets. McCain answered his first marriage, and how he handled it. At the same time, McCain is using both his wife and daughter to campaign with by making appearances and videos to promote his candidacy. The tactics of McCain have been unreal as the race issue continues to come up, and that automatically gives him 5% points. Talk Radio have many personalities criticizing Obama by some of Obama’s stances and statements, after the New Publications have more news to sway people to McCain’s advantage. This election is all about the status quote, and I don’t think people see the diversion of the election that I do. I notice that the McCain Candidacy is a Third Term Bush Administration. The Republicans have the fear propaganda going on all cylinders as McCain continues to say what he is going to do as President still using 9-11 as a tool all from the crimes. The Bush Administration have failed the American People on their inability to apprehend Osama Bin Laden.

National Election- National Editorial by www.jamestowncalif.com Obama and Clinton in Unity

Obama and Clinton in Unity, N.H.

Presidential Candidate Mrs. Hillary Clinton concedes to Barack Obama for the nomination for the Democratic Party for President of the United States. Clinton endorses Obama after conceding and gave a speech to promote his candidacy for electing him this November.
After the concession, why have not the Democratic Party shown the People voting Democrat that the party is indeed unified?
There have been many obstacles for Senator Obama running against Clinton for that nomination. The two campaigned hard, and at times, some of the rhetoric was ugly and unfortunate. Former President Bill Clinton has not 100 percent endorsed Obama like other Democratic leaders have, and it shows still that the party is not unified. Could this ordeal cost the party the election against John McCain, and why haven’t former leaders within the Democratic Party been more assertive on their endorsements by actions rather than all the propaganda we have seen on television going back and forth on possible running mates? There are still so many former Clinton supporters and voters threatening not to vote for Obama even though they are all Democrats? It shows lack of unity, and it shows betrayal of the party, the political system, and it shows uncanny political tactics the fact that this issue is front and center of the National Election.
Had Hillary Clinton not been so blatant on her statements while running against Obama in the campaign, she may have been a shoe in for the Vice Presidential ticket. Instead Obama is being threatened by her and now by her supporters in the National Election. Many women whom voted for and support Clinton have made statements that many will vote for McCain instead of Obama even though they are registered as Democrats. A form of blackmail is what is taking place within the Democratic Party because of this lack of Unity.
Clinton has endorsed Obama beginning with her speech in Unity wearing blue giving people a hope that there can be a change in leadership on its way November. But through the thick and thin, it is the voters that ultimately will make the decision and difference this election 2008. The lack of Unity within the party is helping John McCain gain percentage points in the polls. Obviously those Clinton Supporters that are not supporting Obama although being in the same party are affecting this election and could cost the party the election by their lack of unity. Now it is a bit more obvious, as if the two parties are merged into One party fooling all of us, and changing the course of history which is now in the making.
The fact that women or/and Clinton supporters being Democrat not supporting Obama shows one of two things. One it shows the supporters are not loyal to the party and care more about their own agendas then they do for the party itself. Two it shows a bias of the candidates, and the unwillingness to move forward by supporting the nominee after Obama won by accumulating the needed delegates to become the party’s leader. This can cost the party the election what is happening. The fact that on television it is said over and over that Clinton Supporters will not vote for Obama shows a prejudice. For what reason, it doesn’t matter, but a lot of it looks like the race issue and the gender issue are affecting the influence. Women that supported and still support Clinton are a big percentage of the voting core. The fact that Clinton has endorsed Obama should be enough for those voters to sway to Obama out of party unity. Instead it is the opposite showing that those voters particular women want to have the say in this election by being persuasive on television and in social gatherings threatening not to Vote for Obama and vote for McCain simply because she lost. It is absurd what is happening within the ranks of the Democratic Party and the Republican Party is smiling about this lack of Unity between the two leaders.
Yes, Clinton is a key figure in American Politics. But the nomination process is over and it is time to move on from the nomination process to the actual election process itself. Obama was more in the lead while she was still in the process than he is now because of all these threats and changes.
It is important for the women and Clinton Supporters to make a choice. Either re-register as an Independent or Republican or Libertarian or give up their status being a Democrat because what these people are doing is a disservice and is sabotaging the party and the election. Obviously those supporters care more about themselves and their standing/status then they do for the United States.
The people have spoken, but not all of them. The people have voted in Obama rather than Clinton for the nomination. Politics is not clean, but it is important not to over do the discrediting of one’s candidate to protect the integrity of the election process something these Clinton supporters have not done.
Obama will soon nominate a Vice Presidential candidate. The Voters are concerned about the National Politics and the International Issues facing us in the near future. What it looks like after the process has been taken place that there is a set agenda and perhaps it doesn’t matter what the people think, or want, or say anymore because it is all an inside job from the political speeches, to the rhetoric on the Television spots to the overall process. One of the biggest reasons is watching these two not being unified hearing Bill Clinton not fully endorse Obama out of being a poor sport or being soar that Hillary Clinton didn’t get the needed Delegates to win. Obviously they have not heard the many people speak. But in these times, it is the minority, the special interests, the government agencies, the crooked employees of the state calling the shots, and one thing I notice is that people are tending to be not as enthused for change even though the National Economy has fallen so dearly.

National Election- National Editorial by www.jamestowncalif.com

National Election- National Editorial
The Presidential Candidates versus the National Issues have taken center stage of late. With so much going on like the Bank Failures, the Mortgage crisis, the raise of gasoline per gallon, the Overseas war in Iraq, and the education system failing all at the same time, there are so many issues that the candidates know about and talk about, but can do little about. It is a National disgrace all what we have seen during the final year of the Bush Administration from a result of all the policies taken. The Media informs us of many issues, and there are people truly affected by either one of the issues above or another.
John McCain is asking you for your vote being the Republican Candidate. While he talks about education and our failing schools, he is unable to even send an e-mail, using the internet, and surf the web. He admitted that he has other people close to him do his internet work. If that ain’t the icing on the cake for a candidate asking me for my vote to just find out that McCain is asking people to vote for him when he may be unpopular for the position. All this talk about his service and experience are all irrelevant. The News Media has pumped him up only because he is paying for radio and TV spots. It is a phony and fixed election. The primaries were fixed, and with all the other Republican candidates seeking the same job, we barely are finding out the McCain is computer illiterate. You want a moron for President vote for John McCain. Obviously he is oblivious of what people are feeling inside the United States. All his stances, and all his opinions are irrelevant and it is all opinionated.
John McCain doesn’t even know how to send an e-mail, if that is not a joke while asking people for their vote. To bring one incompetent leader from the next is what the Republican party is trying to push during a time when the Nation is being economically attacked from all ends. How is McCain strong on National Security when he doesn’t even know how to use a computer on its most basic level?
The price of oil, and raise in gasoline prices are being attributed to the supply and demand factors. Before when Iraq was not at War State, gasoline was at 2 dollars. The leaders continued to press the American People on why we should be at War, yet 6 years into the War, the War has not been defined. What we do know is that U.S.Troops are protecting oil conveys coming out of Iraq, some loosing their lives protecting those conveys. At the same time the Oil from Iraq is not being sold in the marketplace. If Iraq was not in a War State, and under re-construction, there would be more oil pumped, and more supply. Instead the supply lines are affected, and disrupted, and the price of oil per barrel continues to go up which is putting a damper on business, and people. It is insane that the news media have yet to ask the question: Does the Iraq War stalling have anything to do with why the gas is so high. In my opinion it is, and it is the center of all the issues that we are facing. It is the ripple of affect what is going on with the banks now broke because the money is all gone after all the days of sending 2 billion dollars a day to Iraq for the War Effort. Meanwhile all that oil that used to come out of Iraq is no longer coming out of Iraq, and that is affecting the supply which is creating these prices to reach at almost 5 dollars a gallon. People are asking why has the economy gotten so bad, and the leaders continue to betray us all by all the rhetoric and reasons why they think we should continue on course.
Now with Oil Prices high, all of a sudden one of the main issues is for there to be off shore drilling in areas that have been protected under that ban. The protecting is in place for a reason, and rather than having people be given tax credits or breaks on areas where people are sitting on oil on land on their property, the President has lifted the ban for off shore drilling and is now asking Congress to also lift that ban. Then who will profit from this if there is off shore drilling say off the coast of California.
John McCain supports off shore drilling off California. This is an issue that looks like the policies set this all up. It looks like the leaders want the prices to go up for the excuse to drill off shore so one company can profit over the other. It is absurd that the results of all the policies of the Bush Administration have put the American People in the most jeopardy where we are not as secure as we once were.
The Leaders have the media promoting the idea of off shore drilling rather than promoting alternative ideas and other ways to consume energy for our cars such as electric. It is all a pattern, and an exposed leadership that has betrayed us all.
When the President of the United States first takes office, he also takes that oath that he solely swears to be honest, forthright, and for the American People on the policies which he creates then implements. Instead it is the opposite, one lie after another thus breeching that oath over and over again which are grounds for impeachment. Instead the news media mostly panders to the news coverage and stories coming out from all the negative policies, War, and now economic hard ships.
The democracy is only successful when the Congress and President are walking the same line. When that is not happening, people turn to the other party, and demand the change to try it all over again but under a difficult transition. If the government is not working the people have the alternative to vote in other leaders even if the majority is the other party. When the President and Congress are on the same page and creating policies that are honest, the economy thrives. When it doesn’t happen that way, then people are in trouble. The beauty of the American Democracy is we have the ability to change leaders through our vote. Even if there is cheating, recall states like Florida, what else is there to do for people. It is a pattern, what we have seen since 9-11-01 the way the leaders go on TV giving us all their opinions on what policies they should take, only doing it to sell the policy and take the money from the tax base. Now there is no money left. The fact that banks failed us shows that we are unable to finance our own war while being at War for special interests more so than for the United States people while pocketing all the tax money generated to the companies. This is where we stand.
The argument of Barack Obama not experience enough is what the news media have been promoting since the exit of Clinton in the campaign. For what reason I don’t know. But if Obama doesn’t fulfill his oath of office, he can always be impeached. Instead it is this President that should have already been or now be impeached, but the News Media is just to chicken to go about the process while the sky is falling. It is all leading to the same denominator that people are unable to defend themselves from the losses that they have endured from the policies which have occurred. The special interests and lobbies have also influence the Judicial Branch, and the 3rd branch of government has not acted independently from the other two which it is supposed to do. Instead the President wants more powers, more spying, and who is to say that the spying isn’t more about spying on peoples financail’s rather than on terrorists. The idea that terrorism continues to be the label on why the Nation has to be at war in two fronts is an argument that I don’t buy and I am not sold on that premise.
First the government attacked the rich, then the middle class, and now going after the poorer class on how the price of fuel is so ridiculously high. The raise in gasoline costs companies more to maintain their business, and when companies need to make cut backs, the employees take the hit. And that is what is happening. Say you have a job that your company pays for your gas, and before he got 20.00 dollars to drive from Los Angeles to San Bernardino, now it costs 40-50 dollars. The companies are now frantic about the sales more so especially when all the pocket money is gone for people to spend.
What makes people in a good mood is when people go shopping, spend money, buy something for yourself or someone. That privilege has been lost and now the ripple affect is going on from the cause and affect of the policies that were already sold by the leaders through the media to the people.
Yet John McCain is quick to take credit for the decrease in violence in Iraq from the surge when it is more so the due diligence of the way people there have adapted to the war and circumstances. Why does gasoline go up when Iran does a missile test? I mean who cares, the United States does tests all the time for its military. Instead the real reason why the price of gas is going up is because the production of the second biggest oil supplier has been tainted. There is not as much oil being pumped, and there is not as much oil being sold into the marketplace from Iraq. Instead some of Iraq’s competitors of oil have flourished during these times. It is amazing that the news media have yet to put one plus one together on why the barrel of oil is going up blaming speculators mostly rather than policy. Instead now there is talk about reasons to drill off the coasts of States that have been protected under the ban. Ironically all this is occurring right before the next election.
The Mortgage crisis has been something really bad and people have yet come to grips with it all in all. Every Man and Women needs his or her domain, and this is what has been affected the most when people have been affected by the raising costs of gasoline from 2 dollars a gallon to 4.50-5.00. For diesel, gasoline is at above 5 dollars, and this result will be prices on goods and services going up thus passed onto the consumers. How much more can people take is the question? Obviously the leaders in this country have not done their jobs well enough while some of the leaders have breeched their own oaths on protecting people and the constitution why they were hired in the first place.
Thanks to the policies of George W. Bush, the United States has become more like the Soviet Union. What is it going to take to end this rut so people can be more protected, productive, happier, and live in peace. Instead it is the same horse manure that the Republican Candidate continues to promote when he is talking about education, and he doesn’t even know how to send an e-mail or use the internet so he states . Is he bought, influenced, and continues to promote the current strategy. It is easy for somebody from Arizona to want to drill off the coast of California when he is not a California native. It is easy to have an opinion when it doesn’t affect you, and John McCain just doesn’t recall some of his stances and votes on prior legislation. They are all in on it so many leaders all part of the destruction of our gold, the American Economy. The American Economy thrives when everyone is working. When people are not working then there is less tax money coming in from the result of people not working. So the government is broke from a result of all the failed policies, and the country’s people are suffering big hardships from the losing of domains all in all. Yet the leaders continue not to be phased by the pain the American People have been going through while the government have been the main obstacle in this process.

Lakers Season Over Game 6 by www.jamestowncalif.com Sports

Lakers Season Over Game 6 by www.jamestowncalif.com Sports

The Los Angeles Lakers came into Game 6 at Boston in need for a win to force a game 7, and that didn’t happen. The Lakers get humiliated Game 6 with the final score 131-92. The Lakers early on looked liked the team came out to play. Kobe Bryant looked good early scoring on 3 three pointers scoring 11 points. The Lakers were never in sink this game, nor in the series. The Celtics took over the game after the 24-20 mark in the first quarter outscoring LA by 4 in the first, 19 in the second quarter, 6 in the 3rd quarter, and 10 in the 4th quarter.
It was sad watching Game 6 from a Lakers Fan perspective considering how enthused many were before the game during the team introductions coming out to the floor with Kashmir as the song.
This is the kind of game that separates other Lakers teams from this team. The last time I remember any Lakers team getting beat by that many points was in the 1985 NBA Finals where the Lakers were defeated 148-114 Game 1, but that team was able to bounce back Game 2 and win, and later win the series. This Lakers team was good winning the West, but to compare this Lakers team to that one is difficult by the performances we saw by all the players in the 2008 NBA Finals.
Game 6 was all Boston. It was loud in the Arena, and the Lakers turned the ball over too much early in the game to fall behind. The Lakers were never able to make the runs to make the game close, and the team collapsed, or fell apart in front of all us.
The Celtics get the “W” Game 6 and get the NBA Championship, and all those K Garnett critics now he has his ring. KG is a true franchise player, and he was just too strong in the middle defensively and offensively Game 6, and all series for the Team to get their 17th Title. The Lakers and Celtics have met in the Finals 11 times, and with the Boston victory in 2008, that makes the Celtics have the 9-2 edge.
Was this Lakers team good enough or able to beat this Celtics Team? The answer was No. The Lakers had plenty of opportunities to play better basketball, but were never in sink this series. In Game 6 the Lakers were humiliated, and the broadcasters and sports writers used the term embarrassed. And it does hurt when the Celtics beat the Lakers, and this season with all the anticipation of the series, it was Boston that stepped it up, and it was Boston that played like they wanted it more.
The Celtics big three played absolutely intelligent basketball throughout the series with each of them playing within their means and fulfilling their roles. The Play inside of KG offensively Game 6 was incredible in that 2nd quarter and defensively he was able to contest the inside play of the Lakers. The Lakers had no inside game. The Lakers didn’t look strong inside, nor were able to make dribble drives to the hoop without turning the ball over on many occasions sometimes consecutively. It was sad to watch the many turnovers in that game for Lakers fans, and there was nothing that the team could or would do to mustard any runs against this Celtics team that was just too dominate.
Congratulations to the players, city, coaches, former players, and management of the Celtics for winning the 2008 NBA Finals. Congratulations to the Los Angeles Lakers for a good season winning the Western Conference.
Leading scorers Game 6 for the Lakers: Kobe Bryant scores 22 points on 7-22 FG’s, Lamar Odom scores 14 points, Gasol scores 11, Jordan Farmar scores 12 points.
For the Lakers, the play of so many players were just not good enough to get over that hump. The play of Radmanovic was absolutely terrible, and his position offensively and defensively the Celtics out played him throughout the series. The play of Luke Walton all series was equally as bad. Some of the play of the Lakers stars, and bench role players were just putrid. The Lakers as a team played worse than putrid, and it’s gotta hurt getting beat by Boston in that fashion where the Lakers were never in sink. Had the Lakers not blown Game 4 at Los Angeles, there would have been a Game 7, but still the way the team played all season, Boston was the better team. The play of this years Lakers team in the finals is what separates the other great Lakers teams in the past.
Celtics leading scorers: K Garnett scores 26 points on 10-16 FG’s and 10 rebounds also had 5 assists, Ray Allen scores 26 points, Paul Pierce the Celtics team captain scores 17 points.
The difference in this game was Rondos play at the guard position whether he ate peanut butter and jelly sandwiches at halftime in the locker room scores 21 points, but his penetration was key for the Lakers defense being on their heals Game 6.
The Lakers defense had no answers for the guard penetration, no answers for KG in the inside on the post, in the lane, on the outside, and no answers to stopping the outside shots from the perimeter by Pierce and Allen.
The Lakers shot 27-64 FG’s at 42% While the Celtics shot 43-87 FG’s at 49%. The Lakers turned the ball over 19 times to the Celtics 7, and that was a key element in this game.
The Lakers get humiliated by the Celtics 131-92, and that was the worst beating I have seen by any Lakers team in the finals. The only thing left for the Lakers is go home and watch Cribs on MTV.

Just a Note: I know being a Lakers fan, this series did mean a lot to me, and it does hurt getting defeated by Boston in the finals. But I still enjoyed it more when the NY Giants won the Super Bowl against the New England Patriots.

Lakers Win Game 5 Series Back to Boston www.jamestowncalif.com Sports

The Los Angeles Lakers win Game Five at Staples Center 103-98 to move the series back to Boston. Kobe Bryant leads the Lakers scoring 25 points on 8-21 FG’s, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 5 steals, but did have 6 turnovers. The question for the Lakers in Game 5 is whether or not the team was going to recover from the Game 4 second half performance? How will the Lakers come out Game 5 was the question?
The Lakers came out in the 1st quarter strong outscoring the Celtics 39-22. Could the Lakers sustain that lead? The Lakers have had problems with the Celtics when the team had big leads to stay up front. The Celtics have managed to come back from point deficits, and it has shaken the Lakers confidence throughout this series. The Celtics come back to outscore the Lakers in the 2nd quarter 30-16, and at halftime it was a 3 point game with the Lakers leading 55-52.
The Lakers blew Game 4 by allowing the Celtics to win that game, and that made Game 5 add more pressure on the Lakers with their backs against the Wall. The Lakers are now at a one game elimination, and the Celtics had an opportunity to win Game 5. Have the Lakers even recovered from the Game 4 defeat would remain a question throughout Game 5. The Lakers take an early third quarter lead 57-52, but just like that the Celtics came roaring back to tie the game at 57. The fans throughout the game a bit antsy, and the Celtics strengths in the half court inside/outside game was showing. The Celtics throughout this series have been good at the perimeter.
You would think that the Celtics were not going to come out and play a 100 percent to bring the series at home to Boston, but don’t tell that to Paul Pierce who had a game high scoring 38 points on 10-22 FG’s, 16-19 FT’s, 6 rebounds, and 8 assists. K Garnett scored 13 points on 6-11 FG’s and 14 rebounds had a very strong game. Ray Allen scored 16 points on 4-13 FG’s, and Sam Cassell scored 9 points.
The Lakers Kobe Bryant didn’t score in the 2nd quarter, and before his first hoop in the 3rd quarter, the Lakers were very stale after the 1st quarter. The Lakers in their home whites matched all Celtics runs after the 57-57 mark, and fought to keep this series going as the Lakers faced a possible embarrassing defeat.
The Question this Game was would the Lakers come out in the 3rd quarter as bad as the last game, and the answer was “No”. The Lakers outscored the Celtics 24-18 in the 3rd quarter. The Celtics played well in the 4th quarter, and the Lakers defense made the plays Game 5 as the team was fortunate Sunday Night. The Celtics unable to close out the Lakers do outscore the Lakers in the 4th quarter 28-24 with the final score 103-98.
The play of the Lakers in 3rd quarter was one of the keys Game 5 winning against a very strong and dedicated Celtics Team. At times, fans thought the game didn’t matter as much to Boston as it did to LA, but the Celtics did play well enough to win. Instead the Lakers players sucked it up, and made some big shots the final 20 minutes of the game.
Lakers scoring leaders: Lamar Odom scored 20 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 blocks, P Gasol scored 19 points, 13 rebounds, and 6 assists, Derek Fisher scored 15 points on 3-10 FG’s, Radmanovic scored 7 points and makes a big three pointer in the 3rd quarter for the Lakers to retain momentum, and off the bench Jordan Farmar scored 11 points.
The difference of this game was the Lakers were able to come out after halftime and play good basketball rather than the team collapsing while missing shots and turning the ball over. Jordan Farmar’s 11 points was huge for the Lakers, but the Celtics bench outscored the Lakers bench 28-17. The Lakers shot 36-79 FG’s at 46% while the Celtics go 33-77 at 43%. The Lakers had 7 turnovers and the Celtics had 8 turnovers, and a key play of the game was Kobe’s steal on Pierce and Kobe makes a dunk from the assist passed back to him at the 1:00 minute mark which put the Lakers up by 4. The Celtics had this game although the Lakers were holding them off. Paul Pierce played an unbelievable game, and has been consistent all series dominating the Lakers mentally on the court. You feel as if the Celtics can score at will at times when the team are making the perimeter shots, and the Celtics have been more consistent than the Lakers from the outside. The Lakers at times seem tense, inexperienced, nervous, and bizarrely as this series could be 3-2 Lakers, that Game 4 could be the game that blows it for them. The Lakers win Game 5 by five 103-98 now play at Boston Tuesday Night going for the series tie. Can the Lakers do it? Will the Lakers come out to play at Boston, and be able to endure that pressure of the road game in the NBA Finals?
thank you

Lakers Blow it Game 4 by www.jamestowncalif.com Sports

The Los Angeles Lakers come into Game 4 going for the 2-2 series tie, and had an opportunity to do so, but flat out blow this game Thursday Night as the Celtics comeback from a 24 point first quarter deficit get the “W” 97-91. This game was “unbelievable”. The Lakers come out hot in the first quarter go up 20-6, 24-7 on two 3 pointers by Radmanovic early. The Celtics miss 8 straight shots in that stretch. KG gets two early fouls in the 1st quarter, and the Lakers offensively were making the transition hoops. Everything was looking good, the Lakers were looking good. Lamar Odom comes out on fire running the floor going 5-5 FG’s early. The Lakers take a 35-14 first quarter lead, and 21 points were the most points a team has ever led by in the 1st quarter in NBA Finals history. The Lakers take a 37-14 lead on a Ariza dunk. Early in the game the Lakers bench players were playing well.
In the 2nd quarter, the Celtics go on a 12-0 run to bring the score at 45-33. Fisher makes a hoop for the 3 point play opportunity gives the Lakers a 47-33 lead at 2:36. The Lakers at the half lead 58-40 by 18, and Lakers fans all carried smiles expecting that this series is going to be at 2-2. The Lakers were outscored the 2nd quarter 26-23. The Lakers in the 3rd quarter go up 68-48, and it was just a matter of playing better defense to close this game out. Instead, the Celtics go on an “unbelievable” 21-3 run, like lightning, and the score goes from Lakers 72-61, by 11 to 73-71. It was “nervous time” (ref C Hearn-Laker Broadcaster).
The Celtics defense forced the Lakers players to miss their field goals, and at 73-73 Powes hoop ties this game Game 4. The Lakers during that stretch missed on 9 straight positions.
Paul Pierce for the Celtics made some key drives to the hoop, one that was for a 3 point play on the lay up. Ray Allen was also a key factor in this ball game. Kevin Garnett was starting to play more of an inside game, and made some hoops on the low post, in the paint, and on defense was strong. The Lakers were unable to make the outside shots, nor were they affective inside against the front court of the Celtics with KG, Perkins, and Posey all contesting the shots. Early in the game, the Lakers challenged the Celtics to make the outside shots. In the 2nd half, the Lakers were unable to contain the Celtics in the half court game, and off Lakers turnovers, the Celtics on the break played incredible. Coach Rivers continued to motivate the Celtics never giving up in this game, and the Celtics found a way to stay close in this game.
The Lakers lead 75-73, and the Celtics tie the game at 75-75. It was a back and forth game, an in your face game, offensive/defense, Pierce and Allen, KG, going up against Lakers defenders with high percentage shots making the big hoops in the 4th quarter. Kobe scores on offense on a drive as the Lakers go up 77-75. KG comes back on a turn around and at 7:10 left in the game, this game was tied at 77. Lamar comes back to score giving the Lakers a 79-77, so the Lakers were fighting off the Celtics during that stretch. Lakers go up by 4 on a Kobe Bryant fast break dunk making the score 81-77 at 5:47.
The biggest hoop of the game comes next where Posey scores from the left baseline for three points falling away on an assist from the extra pass. The Celtics swing the ball to Posey for 3, and the score at 5:17 goes 81-80. Gasol comes back to score at 4:55 score goes to 83-80.
KG comes back strong and draws a foul on the play, scores both free throws makes the score 83-82 at 4:45.
The first lead in the game for the Celtics comes at 4:07 on House’s make for his 10th point score at 84-83 the Celtics hold the Lakers on defense. Ray Allen, who played a marvelous game including playing all 48 minutes, scores on an up and under lay up putting the Celtics up by three 86-83. The strength of the Celtics defense making plays on steals, strips, loose balls, and being intimidating inside were all key factors why the Lakers were unable to make field goals when they needed to late in the game. KG comes back to score puts the Celtics up 88-83 at 2:10 left in the game where Boston went on an 8-0 run. That 5 point lead was the cushion the Celtics needed to hold off the Lakers late in the game after making that miraculous comeback after 68-48. The Celtics went on runs in the first half being down as much as 24 points, but the Lakers would come back with runs of their own. Late in the game, it was not the case.
Kobe gets fouled at 2:03 and makes both free throws brings the score to 88-85 taking off only a few seconds, Kobe for his 15 point at 5-18 FG’s. Pierce comes back for the Celtics and draws a foul scores one of two brings the score to 89-85. Kobe comes back on offense to make the hoop brings the Lakers within 2, 89-87 with 1:30. The Lakers needed a stop.
Instead, it was lightning striking twice, James Posey, from the corner again left side makes a three pointer for his 18 point. Derek Fisher comes back for the Lakers and it looked like a three, but it was a two. His foot was on the line, Fishers hoop brings the Lakers down three points 92-89 at :57 seconds left. Kobe makes an assist to Gasol for the dunk and the Celtics lead 94-91. Ray Allen scores right back on a lay up for his 19 point ices the game for Boston leads 96-91.
Lakers Blow Game 4. The Lakers needed to win Game 4 to bring the series 2-2, but instead it is the Celtics who get the “W” 97-91 and take a 3-1 NBA Finals series lead. The Lakers totally, totally, totally, totally, totally, totally, totally laid an egg after 68-48 in Game 4 and “Blow” a golden opportunity this series to give the team a chance to win. The Celtics won on Heart, won as a team from the Big 3 to the bench players come back Game 4 and now have a 3-1 series lead. No team has ever come back from a 3-1 series lead in the finals. The way the Lakers played Thursday Night was unbelievable playing so well in the first half, then to play so rotten in the second half laid an egg this game get beat by 6 points.
re box scores http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=280612013
Highs for the Lakers: Kobe Bryant scores 17 points, Lamar Odom scores 19 points on 8-11 FG’s but late in the game was not a factor, Gasol scores 17, Fisher scores 13, Radmanovic scores 10. Both Odom and Gasol get 10 rebounds. The Lakers bench production scores 15 points. For the Celtics: Pierce scores 20 points, Allen scores 19/9 rebounds, K Garnett scores 16/11 rebounds, Posey scores 18, and House scores 11 points. The Celtics bench outscored the Lakers bench by twenty points 35-15. The Lakers were outscored 31-15 in the 3rd quarter, and
26-18 in the 4th quarter. The Lakers are down 3-1. Game 5 Sunday at Staples Center 6pm PT.

Lakers Win Game Three 87-81 Series Now at 2-1 by www.jamestowncalif.com Sports

Lakers Win Game Three 87-81 Series Now at 2-1 by www.jamestowncalif.com Sports

The Los Angeles Lakers come into Staples Center Game 3 in need of a win and they get the “W” 87-81. The Lakers win on a scrappy game. Kobe Bryant comes out the first quarter strong and scores 19 points in the first half. Kobe came out driving to the basket, and that is what the Lakers team strategy needs to do more in order to win this series take everything to the basket.
From 2-1 early the Lakers had most of the momentum. With the Teams tied at the end of the 1st quarter 20-20, the Lakers outscored the Celtics in the 2nd quarter 23-17. The Lakers had an 11 point lead, but the Celtics came back in the 3rd quarter and outscored the Lakers 25-17 take a 2 point lead at the end of the quarter. The Lakers outscored the Celtics 27-19 in the 4th quarter and that was the difference win by 6.
The Lakers as a team for the 1st three quarters were playing scrappy. The team made a lot of bad passes, allowed the Celtics to get second chance points from missed rebounds, and were also unable to stop Ray Allen from the perimeter whom scored 25 points for the game.
The Lakers were awful at the free throw line, and uncanny Kobe misses 2 in a row in the first half, and it was fortunate that the Lakers did get the win. In close games, the free throws do make a difference, and for some reason the Lakers as a team shot 21-34, 62%. Kobe goes 11-18 at the free throw line, and I don’t know if it is sweaty palms from being nervous or what, but there have been a lot of shots that have slipped.
“It is Nervous Time” (ref C Hearn broadcaster), and the Lakers play well enough to get the win by 6 Game 3, but can they win the Championship playing this bad even though they won.
I’d like to say that even though Pierce was in foul trouble and scores only 6 points in the game, the refs were not consistent on the calls. Although at LA, the refs made some bad calls. I don’t know what was worse, the officiating, or the color broadcasters on ABC, Van Gundy and Jackson? The Network place a coach and former player as color announcers expecting to get expertise, and it is the opposite.
The Lakers go 30-69 FG’s, 6-14 3 point FG’s for 43% total 43.5%. The Celtics shot the ball at 29-83 FG’s, 8-18 3 point FG’s 44% total 35%. The Lakers did what they have to do on defense by challenging the Celtics to make those outside shots, and Game 3 the Lakers defense did just that.
Kobe Bryant scores 36 points, but missed 7 foul shots. It was one starter and one bench player for the Lakers that stepped it up for the team to get the win, and Sasha Vujacic scores 20 points, 7-10 FG’s, 3-5 from 3 point land, and he had a big game. Gasol scores 8 points for the Lakers, and he was also missing free throws late in the game. Gasol was not a factor offensively in the first half like he was Game 2, but good job for the effort. Odom scores 4 points with 9 rebounds, but the ball looked like it was slipping out his hand too. Lamar was in early foul trouble as he gets his 3rd foul at the beginning of the 2nd quarter.
Some of the bench players for the Lakers play was unsatisfactory if the team expects to win. Luke Waltons play was not good shooting over the rim with no points, but was a +12 plus/minus on 11 minutes played. Turiaf gets no points in 19 minutes of useless production. The Lakers bench players at the front court have had their problems playing against the Celtics, and luckily for the Lakers KG’s shooting was also not good. Jordan Farmar played a good game for the Lakers making a clutch three and played good defense drawing a charge. Nice drive Jordan in the lane from the left playing aggressive all series. The Lakers Radmanovic scores 3 points even though he shaved.
KG didn’t shoot the ball well all game goes 6-21 scores 13 points, Posey scores 9 points, House(what kind of name is House) scores 6 points going 2-3 from 3 point land, and Powe gets 1 point.
re box scores http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=280610013
For the Lakers, Fisher scores 6 points, but did make a late in the game drive to draw the foul and make the free throws goes 4-4 FT’s. Fisher will have to play better for the Lakers to be more efficient. It seemed as if all the Lakers are a bit tense, and Game Three it was Kobe as the Starter and Sasha from the Bench that gave the team that lift for the series to get to a 2-1. The Lakers go for the tie Thursday Night.
As a Lakers Fan, I am glad the team won, but I didn’t like the way the team played Tuesday Night, and I thought it was a scrappy game. The Lakers get the win 87-81 series now at 2-1. MVP Kobe Bryant did what he needed to do for the Lakers to win taking it upon himself early in the game, and late in the game making hoops on drives and from the top of the circle taking the high percentage shots scores 36 points Game 3.
thank you.

Lakers Defeated Game 2 Play 3 in LA by www.jamestowncalif.com Sports

The Los Angeles Lakers get defeated Game 2 at Boston 108-102. And it does hurt getting defeated by the Celtics now the Lakers face their biggest challenge. The Lakers beat themselves, and while the stats are misleading, the Celtics dominated this ball game most of the way. It was a must win for both teams, and the Celtics are now leading this series 2-0 go to LA to play 3.  For the Celtics what was at stake was defending their home court early in the series by going up 2-0 rather than it being 1-1 with three in Los Angeles. The Lakers came out to play Game 2, and looked good in the half court game in the first quarter taking a 22-20 lead. Pau Gasol was going one and one with Garnett dunking one in his face, and make some sweet post moves scoring with the left hand.
This series is how I remember Lakers/Celtics series in that when the games are played at Boston, the refs do make some bad calls, or tic tac calls, and not being consistent at times early when it does affect the outcome of the game. The Lakers were playing according to game plan, playing aggressive, and Kobe sharing the ball with his team mates early getting them involved. Defense switched on Gasol where Perkins guarded him rather than KG.
Then came the whistle. Kobe gets called for his second foul early in the game where he checks Allen going for the ball, and after that Kobe was on the bench. The refs looked like they were waiting for that play, then to make the call early. You can’t score points from the bench, so Boston was looking good in the 2nd quarter with Pierce making those three pointers outscore the Lakers 34-20. The Lakers sat at 22 for a juncture.
The Lakers Odom and Fisher also played with foul trouble with 3 each before halftime. Lamar was in the game with 3 fouls as Coach Jackson was not substituting for him.
Coach Jackson needed players coming off the bench to provide points, production, and minutes, and the bench did not do well against the Celtics bench. The Celtics role players with KG on the bench did a spectacular job, and the game came down to bench production in my opinion. Even with all that, the Lakers still in the game at halftime with the score 54-44.
The Lakers were all in foul trouble and the Celtics Powe, #0, was all over the basketball court making points and providing defense.
Then came the 3rd quarter, and the Lakers lost their composure in that quarter getting outscored 29-19 and down by 20, 83-63. It was ugly, and it was bad, but Lakers fans always believe in their team, and while people were all criticizing, the Lakers after being blown out of this game, make a tremendous fourth quarter surge outscoring the Celtics 41-25 in the 4th, and came within 2 points at 104-102 with a minute to go. The Lakers had this one, and the Celtics almost let this game get away luckily for them.
It was the little things that made the difference of this game. While Radmanovich goes plus 11, I didn’t see it scores 13. He blew rebound opportunities late in the game where the Celtics scored on the second attempt. The Lakers role players go minus 12 for Turiaf scores 4 points, Luke Walton minus 16 scores 2 points, Farmar minus 16 scores a late 3 before the end of the 1st quarter scores 9 points, Vujacic goes minus 2 scores 8 points, but made some terrible passes all game. The Lakers Ariza played almost 7 minutes, and scores no points.
Lakers highs: Kobe Bryant scores 30 points, Odom scores 10, Gasol scores 17 points. Both Radmanivich and Gasol get 10 rebounds a piece, but the Lakers as a team still need to rebound the basketball better.
The factors in this series is that the Lakers have been out muscled in the lane, and at the same time have not been quick enough to contest the outside shots where the Celtics go 9-14 from 3 point FG’s. There were five lead changes, and three times this game was tied. The Celtics got all the calls early and it affected the outcome in that the refs didn’t let the players play. Still, the Lakers down 0-2 have three games in LA beginning Tuesday.
The Lakers shot 41-83 FG’s, 49% which is good, but it didn’t look like it until the 4th quarter while the Celtics go 53%, 36-68 so the Lakers had more shot attempts. Every time the Lakers had some momentum, the Celtics would make a run. Pierce and Allens’ back to back three’s looked good, but it is still 0-2 with 3 in LA.
This series is going to come down to coaching. The Lakers players will have to perform in LA and win all three games in order to remain in this series and force game 6 in Boston. Right now the Celtics have the 2 wins, and it is just how I remember the series from the 80′s where the Lakers are under pressure and being challenged by a worthy opponent, but it means a little more against the Celtics.
The Games in LA, the players will have to play a lot better than they did at Boston. Most of all the Lakers have to win all three at home to protect their home court, and get another crack at the Celtics in front of the Boston fans whom were loud Sunday Night. It was an exciting game.
In the broadcasting booth, after Powe made a coast to coast dribble drive for the dunk in
front of all the Lakers defenders, one of the broadcasters said that Powe looked like Dr.J. I didn’t even think of it, and liked the statement even though I knew that was not Dr.J, but who cares? Obviously the other broadcaster. In the booth, you should never criticize your fellow broadcast while on the air, and that is what happened in rebuttal saying that for that comment that it was the worst comment ever made on an ABC Broadcast. That is what they teach in school not to criticize the other broadcaster even if you disagree with him, or there is an error on the call. The Lakers go 10-10 at the free throw line while the Celtics go 27-38 FT’s 71%.
What went wrong for the Lakers? The Lakers as a team turned the ball over 14 times. The Lakers played good defense at times, but not all game. The Lakers get defeated by 6 points making that incredible run late in the game showed the Celtics that this series is not over. The Lakers need to win game 3 convincingly. Kobe is going to have to step it up in Los Angeles as the Lakers need the MVP now more than ever.
thank you
