The Last of the Old Fashion Drive in Hamburger Joints, the Omega Drive
in in Orange offers great food at affordable prices. With gas prices
soaring, it cost me more to drive there than to eat there. When I was
giving the assignment by the Hornet Staff to go to Omega Drive in, eat
there, and then write a basic report on the place, I left class Thursday
straight to the Burger place driving from Fullerton to Orange. Omega In
is one block from the Orange Circle and 2 blocks from Chapman College
conveniently located for the residents and students there to eat, but I
wanted to try a new place and was excited about writing a report for the
newspaper about my eating experience.
First I did the mileage from campus to the burger restaurant where I
cruised down St. College to Chapman, made a left towards while the whole
time I was on Empty. I get to the Burger Joint, and walk in pleasantly
surprised of the menu, how good it is, and how many items there are to
choose from. I went in with the mentality that I was going to have a
double cheeseburger no matter what since lately I have not been eating
hamburgers at all ordering chicken sandwiches when I go out. I felt
like that double cheeseburger combo and that is what I ordered costing
me 5.99 plus tax and cheese at 7.10 with a Coke. I drank two Cokes
medium size, enjoyed the fries with ketchup, and ate that cheeseburger
for my dinner.
The Cheeseburger was served with thousand island sauce rather than the
messy other stuff. The lettuce and tomato added flavor to the burger
and I was more than happy with that double cheeseburger combo. I also
ate some spicy yellow peppers with the meal. I give the Omega In a 10
for food taste and quality, service, and character of the place being
where it is located and how strong of a foundation the building still is
after being there for a while. Next time i am in town, I will stop by
on my own time to either have another double cheeseburger, or order
something else. All kinds of good stuff from steaks, to Gyros to all
the other good stuff like Onion rings, do you like Onion Rings?
